Role:-Solaris & Linux Admin

Experience:- 3-6yrs

Job Location :- Mumbai

 

Service deliverables:

Solaris Administration:

  • OS installation/configuration, Post build checks to install/configure DB standard tools.
  • Security management – Configuring Account policy, Access rights, Password control
  • Monitor CPU, Kernel, disk, memory and I/O parameters
  • Configure and maintain NIS
  • Create and maintain secure NFS mounts (NFS – Network File System
  • Check for bad blocks and bad processes , Check for crash dumps / panics and resolve them
  • Patch Management of Solaris Versions.
  • Verify system logs and periodically clean up log files
  • Schedule and execute jobs. Schedule and optimize the services running on the server
  • Take back up of the file systems .Recover the server from system crashes
  • OS performance tuning
  • Periodic Reports on Server performance, Problem reports and analysis

 

Linux Administration:

OS installation/configuration, Post build checks to install/configure DB standard tools.

Defining Linux Server configuration levels. (Disks, File systems, RAID Levels, Boot types, Standard and advanced Packages that needs to be installed etc)

Defining Server performance Thresholds and Performance Measures.

 Periodic monitoring and reporting of defined Metrics. (Manual, Automated process)

Handling any Linux related Incidents.

Manage Server configuration level changes through effective Change Management process.

Monitoring Application Queues, Threads and exception reporting.

File system security and Patch Management of Linux Versions.

Linux File systems Backup and restore Management.

Server recovery Planning, restoration drills.

Scheduled Maintenance of Linux Servers

Periodic Reports on Linux Server performance, Problem reports and analysis.

Automation of routine jobs/activities using shell/Perl scripts
